That’s really good to know Ben, many thanks!

It’s so keen to justify its existence that sometimes, when I’ve shut it down and then flicked the power off switch on the wall, it reboots itself! Fortunately the reboot is pretty quick – but my wife doesn’t always agree…

Thanks for that Joe. As alluded to, my clients tend to be pretty basic and if some of them had those flashing frame numbers in the corners of their eyes, their heart beats would probably go up considerably. No matter, I understand it is what it is but I just thought that the HMS option in this context is slightly misleading. NBD, thanks.

Many thanks for your reply Ben, much appreciated. Perhaps as you say I’m underestimating my contacts but these are mostly amateur performers having fun on stage in village halls and such like. Well, I’ll expose them to it and see how they react and if not so well then I do have a way of covering things up. Thanks also for the tip about 3rd party equivalents – I’m going to do that research!

It’s a great idea John and I might give it a try if the client makes a fuss. This whole project is pretty amateur (very much including me) but it’s good to have that idea. Thanks!

Thanks for confirming my suspicions Ben but no, those bands just stayed rock steady. I’ve seen the effect you describe elsewhere.

Good advice about setting the refresh rate accordingly but in this case the super enthusiastic tech guy probably wouldn’t have had a clue what rate was being used anyway. He was so happy the projection was just there and stayed there! For now, in the edit, I’ll just favour those cameras where the effect is less noticeable.

Thanks for the reply Doug – I was away and only just saw your reply. No, there’s no flicker. The bands stay solid. It doesn’t sound like Flicker Free would be appropriate but thanks for mentioning it as it could be the one to use another day. Oh well, I’ll just have to blind the client with pseudo science… Wish me luck!

I’ve used the relatively new built-in tracking feature and it’s so easy to use. It works really well too.

  • MANY thanks to both of you. Sorry I didn’t reply before but I was without any internet.

    Hi Mads,

Wow – at first sight that’s quite some facility! Probably much more than my bird table warrants 😉 But really good to know and I’m hoping to look a bit more deeply into it in due course.

    Thanks again, Brian.

Many thanks for the suggestions Mads which I shall definetly bear in mind. The only thing is, I can’t buy any more cameras otherwise my marriage might suffer…

The AI suggestion looks interesting. Might you perhaps have some leads in that area…?
