Pro Res 1920×1080 Square No Fields 30p NTSC is the original sequence.
Being mastered to NTSC SD DVD.
I shot with a Canon XLH1 a while back and discovered that if you leave the SHARP setting to anything, but off you’ll get terrible moraying on anything with a sharp horizontal edge. My assumption is that the original shooter probably has his detail or sharp settings too high.
And now as the editor, I have to compensate for it.

Actually, I’ve done a few XML transports, even recently with FCP7 to FCP6. I’m wondering if there is something to the footage or media referenced in the project, or maybe there’s a plugin that is causing an issue.

Guys. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
First, you should know the anomaly is in the original footage, so we know it was introduced during the recording.
However, I’ve been shooting for 15 years and I can tell when a camera is bumped or shaken. The shooter had footage that was shot handheld and with sticks on a lock down with no wind, and yet the same “wobbling” effect can be seen.
Have you ever held out a good old fashion wood saw and shaken it? it will make a funny wobbling sound as the long blade seems to ripple like the surface of water from a rock being thrown into it. The abnormality is like that, only when you look at it frame by frame you can actually see the footage being distorted on all axis. It’s as if you’ve added a 3D Perspective effect and set it to random keyframes. I’ve never seen anything like it before.
The shooter/client is returning the camera under warranty.

It’s similar to the jello effect you mentioned. The shooter is going to check the original footage in their camera tonight. That will tell us a lot.
Is this issue ever introduced in the log and transfer process?

My bad. You are correct. I didn’t have the camera to check. it likely was AVCHD. It’s not the CMOS shutter, at least not from the examples on the web site you linked. It’s very intermittent and resembles a 3D warping effect.

No. There is nothing wrong with the original enclosure. The issue is, or should I say was my original Mac Desktop that it was connected to. That Mac died, and since it had the esata card in it, my eSATA enclosure is of no use to me. All I have at the moment is a MacBook Pro. That’s why I’ve been asking about 4 port cards for a laptop.
So, I guess the only option is to purchase a new enclosure and install the drives in the same order (top to bottom?) as the original configuration. Right?

One more ignorant question. Can I install the four HDs from my enclosure in a new enclosure and access it as it was originally striped?

Yes, this is a JBOD drive array where each drive has a cable to it. They were striped together, and I’ve used them that way for several years now.
I assume that if I can’t connect them all through one card that my MacBook Pro will not read them properly. Is that correct?
At this point, the objective is to pull the media off there.

My challenge is the drive is an existing drive that was striped across all four HDs as a simple array. So, I need a 4 port esata adapter. I’ve found some 2 port adapters, but not four. Where can I find the slot 34 adapter you referenced?
