I’m transferring a project from FCP 7 to FCP 6 using XML. When exporting I select Interchange format Version 4. When importing into FCP 6, it gives me the initial option screen of IMPORT XML options .I leave them default. Then it asks me to save the new project. Then it begins importing, but then I get two error messages. ERROR: Critical errors aborted the processing of document. I can view the log, and then a “General Error” message comes up. THe project comes up totally empty.

Am I missing something? Is this a bug? Any other work around?

I just tried this with Exporting XML V.4 also.
Brought it back in new Proj. (FCP7though) Worked fine.

Maybe trying Exporting V.2, Have you tried that?

Actually, I’ve done a few XML transports, even recently with FCP7 to FCP6. I’m wondering if there is something to the footage or media referenced in the project, or maybe there’s a plugin that is causing an issue.
