Sending (Mic) level from the mixer to a camera using a snake can cause problems with leakage from the return signal. You would be better sending line level and then adding a pad on the input of the camera dropping it down to mic level. The same thing with the comteck.. send at line level and the pad down.
Here is a link to pad making https://www.uneeda-audio.com/pads/
from what you have mentioned you will need 3 x 40db pads

Various options, use a telephone hybrid interface (But chances are that you dont have one) or how about use a mobile phone with an earpiece, cut the earpiece off bare the cable back, clip onto the 2 wires… it should be about line level and a low impedance that should go into a mixer. I’ve done it before… (charge the client for a new earpiece!)
Note this is not the “perfect” way but should get you out of trouble

I still use some old VHF mics at 202.5 and 193.7 mhz which fit in guard spaces for the local TV stations. I always feel better doing fishing docos and other risky jobs with old mics.

I will answer the question you posed with a question, Is what you shooting in stereo going to end up in stereo?
You must think of a stereo mic as 2 microphones both OFF axis of what your trying to capture the sound from, so if at ANY stage of the shoot, transfer, edit, master, release or show the product it will be in mono then a stereo mic would be a negative.
So if you can think about that dilemma, you will have your answer.

A friend of mine (News paper photographer) on many occasions had his car boken into and gear stolen.
He then removed all the “Nikon,Cannon, etc stickers” from the cases and had some professionally labels made up “Soil Samples” “Soil Test Kit” etc, And NEVER had his car broken into again.

If they are seated it may be better to put 3-4 mics on small stands or a central coffee table, micing smaller groups rather than individual people. Often with group sessions people tend to look down rather than sit up straight.

Is the pad switched on the microphone switched in?
Infact what are the switch settings on the mic set on?

Maybe im reading between the lines but are you also wanting to then sync those recordings up to the video captured on the camera?

  • After looping the bands around the mic and mounting it in the cradle the use 2 small zip cable ties sort of diagonally through the bands to lock the rubber bands to the mic and stop them moving around.
The disadvantage is that the zip ties need to be cut to release the mic.

  • General Description
The MKE 300 has been specially designed for use on film and video cameras/camcorders. It is fitted onto the camera’s flashmount and by virtue of its super-cardioid/lobar pick-up pattern picks up the sound coming from the direction the camera is pointing at
