Get a copy of ‘Pluraleyes’ an audio sync program.

Was the camera audio set to ‘auto’ or ‘manual’ level?
It seems by what you have described it may have been in ‘auto’ -
I am assuming you are using a ‘LINE level’ cable to get ‘line’ level into the TX unit, as the ‘line’ input+ is actually the ring of the connector and NOT the tip.
The o/p of the RX will depend on the make, model, and input of the recorder you have selected (with SO MANY variables its hard to give exact instructions)

Most ‘Radio’ production people could come up with several tracks for a reel, even TV sound people could provide www. links to some work they were involved with.
As a newcomer to the industry don’t try and create a ‘fake’ reel ie. stuff that hasn’t actually gone to air, it will be spotted a mile off and it will make you look silly, It would be far better to be honest.
If you DID have some tracks, probably 2-3 minutes would be ample. -
Why tri level sync? The mixer has its own sync, the audio mixer doesn’t require sync and the recorder will record without an external sync…..
P2 cards for the camera? The AVCHD format on SD cards is much more cost effective. -
I doubt if you will get the 2 feeds good enough for music…. an interview would be fine, but not music.
Spend the money and do it properly hire a recorder for a day, even a Zoom H6. A few $$$ spent will save you hours of frustration. -
Stereo mic? mmmmmm with one capsule. (I think not)
I think you have a MONO mic going to both channels.
What you need is an adaptor that feeds one mic to the Left channel and the other mic feed that goes to the Right channel.I doubt if you will find on ‘off the shelf’ it may be a custom made one.
The mic input on the back of the H4n is on a 1/8″ socket, the 1/4″ socket on the base of the recorder is for high level musical instruments (not line level) a mic plugged into these sockets won’t work.

I have a SD442 and use Senni G2’s + G3’s and feed them into the mixer at mic level.
Note; make sure that the phantom power is ‘turned OFF’ as damage can result on some radio mic RX units.

How is this for a list…..
Stereo Crowd FX set in XY mode.
Stereo Crowd FX set in AB mode.
1x Omni mic anywhere under the ring on a short stand to give the low freq thud. (floor of the ring most times are mounted on springs to reduce shock)
2x Lav mics omni (cabled) to each of the contestants corners mounted along the rope (safely) a bit so they can sit in the corner and still have an exposed mic near the shoulder so you can hear them talking.
2x extra lav mics in the other corners (if you have enough mics / channels on the desk)
Fx mic on each backpack camera near the ring (normally 2 cams) Remember the fight will often end up outside of the ring.
Radio Lav mic on the referee… and a spare / quick change over of matches.
Direct split of the announcement mic or a split from PA.
Feed o/p from PA desk to get the intro music etc.
FX mic on the bell
There you go for what I would regard as minimum, .. Then add commentary setup and TV only mics for the opening of the program etc.
Foam pop filters on every mic to stop sweat that will be flying around.
Run an 8 way loon to under the stage and do the 4x corner lav mics and ring FX from that.
Should be an easy setup…. this sort of OB is always good fun.

Was the level low when you were recording the tracks and listening to the output of the H4n with headphones?
