Next time you watch your local news – watch it with an eye to what’s truly local. If it’s more than 10-20% locally generated I’d be surprised.
90% of our local news IS local. {indianapolis DMA #26]

Did they edit this video on FCPX because the last 3 edits are a mess… One is cut too close and the other is too loose at the end.

I used Lightworks back in the 1990’s – it was a great content editor. it never had effects at the time. I look forward to it on the Mac.

April 21, 2013 at 3:16 am in reply to: Commercials letter boxing on local comcast spota few things…
Comcast requires that all HD spots be center cut safe. Your spot does not look like it is.
Therefore, they may be downconverting it to SD Letterbox. Then it depends on the channel you are watching it on.Are you watching an HD channel in HD? is your TV set to normal or stretch? Are you seeing this on an SD channel that is set to stretch?
Too many variables.

More than likely HR just copy/paste an old job description.

November 28, 2012 at 7:41 pm in reply to: Seasons change as subject moves through sceneThe shots are closely lined up.. but no perfect. there is enough change from green to snow that you don’t notice the shifts.
After that, it’s just some nice masking.

I know why you are doing a ch 1&2 split… but WHY are you STILL doing a ch1 & 2 Split?
I assume this is for archiving and retrieval purposes. What are you archiving to and can you do a 4 channel mix?
2 Channel split is so 1980’s.

You are getting what you are supposed to. You won’t get 2 layers in AE like in Premiere. Each clip is put on a separate layer, and then the timing of those clips are offset in the AE comp to match the timing of your PP timeline.
So”Beautiful Clouds” is Layer 6 and runs from 0-3:00. Layer 1 is the “048” clip that also runs from 0-3:00 sec
At 3 sec, “helicopter ride” Layer 2 is visible, you can see how layer 2 is offset in AE to make this timing happen.
It might help if you explained what you were trying to achieve. Perhaps you don’t need to bring in every shot.
