in my experience with CAD import (limited) the best solution is bevel it in the original program.
R20’s greatly expanded CAD import might remove the .obj step

unless you need to for some reason, I would turn off Change Pitch Rotation in the point at camera tag on the null then zero P and B so only H is affected and the axis is flat to the world axis. Then you can see that when the null’s Z aligns with World Z it does read as 0 degrees

Here’s a couple stabs at it. The ‘eye’ uses an Icosahedron sphere which is the most regular, I think
The mosquito cam is another way with more of an attempt a hexagonal lenses.

will look at the project later but the numbers are likely because in C4D rotations are done in Radians internally, some ports will translate automatically some won’t. If you need there is the Degree node which allows you to turns radians into degrees, degrees into radians…

Do an Optimize (Points Mode) after you make the cone editable as there seem to be a couple extra points and then use the soft selection in Surface mode which will make sure the points that move are along the surface in the distance range and not just “every point in range”.

After you get the shape close, moving single points (or sculpting if you have Studio). There has to be more than one way to do this and using as few points as possible inside a Subdivision Surface and extruding edges out from a source would be a choice too. I just did a quick test, took a disk object and reduced the segments to 12 and did the same over-wrapped slice, then extruded the outer edges upward all in an SSD to smooth. Totally not a good attempt (quick) but the initial shape is there without a lot of work.

I meant to add that, here you are.

So if you look at a glass in the real world you only see it due to the light it reflects, the way it changes the objects behind it (visually) and any surface imperfections (which are always there – no matter how small).
In 3D there’s nothing to reflect by default so you have to provide the scenery, either by putting in lights, luminant objects, using a Sky object with a texture on it etc.
The transparent texture should also be considered, while the IOR of 1.6 in the glass material will distort things behind it, some absorption and roughness in the reflection help as well. Using the layer fresnel in the refection is a good idea too.
The shape of the object is important too. The round teapot shows off the lights well since the round shape will always reflect light back to the camera no matter where the lights and camera are. A flat surface like your logo is going to be a problem because the lights and camera need to be in just the right place for the light to get reflected to the right spot (where the camera is). It would help a lot to bevel the the edges of the logo to give an ‘edge glint’ but your object is really hard to bevel due to it’s construction. It would be a lot easier to start with the splines that were used to make those two objects and Extrude them in C4D where you could add a bevel very easily but you would still have to pay attention to where the lights (or other objects) are to reflect back to the camera the way you want.

Here’s a teapot and two flat glass planes with one light in a otherwise blank scene, you can’t even see the planes since the light is not in the right position relative to the camera.

Here’s the same scene with a stage object placed in

better but no reflections of the light, no shadows. Because it’s the simple (fast) renderer shadows are not going to show unless there is some color/absorption in the material

Light reflecting off/through an object and onto the surroundings is Caustics which is enabled in the render settings and in the lights

This is all with the standard renderer. If you use GI you get much better glass and surroundings integration but it takes a lot longer to render, in a addition you can light the scene with an HRDI texture which also reflects in the glass.

    or

This all only scratches the surface of all that’s involved but it’s a start. Reflective (non-transparent) surfaces are the same thing no metal/shiny thing looks good until it has something to reflect whether it real geometry, an image attached to a sky/big sphere or an image in the environment channel of the material at least.

you don’t need the twist you can use the rotation settings in the spline wrap. Since the Y is two splines or two segments (unless you wrap it back on itself to make it all one spline – not good I think) it doesn’t matter if you use spline wrap or sweep a rectangle along it because one arm is longer the rotation will always be tighter along the shorter spline. If you treat it as two splines (or three) the each part can have it’s own rotation settings to make it visually the same, there’s always going to be the problem of not have a fully clean join on the one side. Just the nature of the Y (Q, E, R, T, A, F, H, K, and X would be a problem too). I would work with that if the project can stand it

ah, no growth just twist, I would think you’d have to treat it as separate objects but how is it constructed? Can you post the scene file please?

since the Y is two segments in one spline or two splines and there’s nothing you can do about that I think you’re going to change methods for that letter. Are you trying to grow the letter from the bottom up?
