Thanks. This method actually does work (media100 sde 13.0.4). It works with color effects as well as effects applied in Boris. However, instead of clicking the “apply color effects to selected clips” you simply choose the “apply effect to selected clips” Just remember to render clip prior.

Thanks for your response. I would be able to get by with it being a computer monitor issue, but
it’s actually the footage that is being affected somewhere. Like I said, I’ve networked the imported
footage to another system and its washed out. Problem seems to be in and around breakout box, because footage imported via firewire looks fine. Deck has been checked and all wires are attached and working just fine. It’s hard to believe the breakout box could be issue since signal is simply “passing thru” it, but I can’t think of any other culprit here.

all systems are media 100 sde systems operating version 13.0.2 Quicktime 7.6 Aja 6.0.3.

I just downloaded update to m100 13.0.4 – but problem persists.
I’ve checked all connections, compared codecs, settings, etc to other
    working systems – I’M BAFFLED!

Hey Paul, just got back from vacation and nobody addressed issue. Anyway, I’m shooting on dvcpro and using media 100i compression type when importing. I’ve compared system setting against two other systems we use (without this issue) and everything is the same. This is a problem which started happening out of the blue.

using 13.0.3 for producer and hardward versions. You can access this “choke” effect by clicking on a clip. In the edit suite click “edit.” From the menu, go to “filters.” “colors and blurs” then choose “BCC color choker.”

Play around with it … like I said, you can get a nice effect from it.

Hi Floh – thanks for your reply.

I have the latest version (12.5.1).

*In my applications folder, I have both a media100 “and” a media100 Producer folder. Both contain a graphics and filter folder. Inside them is what’s called a “composite suite 4.3 filter bundle” Inside
that is a couple of folders which contain a “compositing suite filter” I’m not sure if this means anything to you, but ya never know.

*Is there any steps I’m supposed to do in order to have “red” used as the default title/comp program?

May 1, 2008 at 5:31 pm in reply to: SYNC ISSUE

Floh – We have now hooked up the deck so there is no audio or video coming from the computer to the deck. EE settings are off. That has eliminated the nasty audio and video feedback but the yellow video sync still does not come on with any regularity. We have also locked the system and deck with black burst and set the genlock to external.

Any ideas? – we are stumped.

I appologize if my frustration w/Media100 has offended. Unfortunately, there has been more than 1 issue w/them. The m.o. seems to be … “let us investigate the problem and call you right back” … the problem is – they never do.

*At any rate, the strange thing about this sync issue is that we’ve already had the previous edition of media100 installed w/this deck without issue. When you mention using the deck as p/b instead of e/e, I’m a little confused because my decks menu only gives me the option of “e/e or “black” ???

    Thanks,
    BJ

    Hey Floh,
Your reply was very useful. Regarding the E/E issue: We just tried your suggestion, but had no luck. We are using a dvcpro AJ D450. I seemed to get a little better results after hooking up deck control, but still significant delay in sync.
Do you have any other ideas?
    Thanks again,
    Brian
