This looks like banding due to 8 bit color space.
You have several options:
1) add noise to the gradient ramp
2) Increase the project bit depth to 16 or 32 bits.

The benchmarks (speed results) on a 4 core MacPro Tower aren’t dramatically faster than the MacBook Pro i7 which has 4 cores and 8 threads. (I have the MacPro 12 core Westmere with 32 GB of RAM). Processor speed is only one measure of a system’s performance, pay attention to disk speed and I/O as well.
The advantage of the tower is expandability. More drives, more RAM, slots for video I/O boards.
The MacBook Pro has Thunderbolt, a real game changer once the devices arrive (drives and I/O cards). LaCie has already demoed a Thunderbolt drive on a Macbook Pro, Matrox is updating their interface for the MXO boxes, AJA and Blackmagic will follow suit. So the slots on the Mac Pro may be moot.
Regardless of your choice, buy the RAM elsewhere, Apple charges a horrendous premium for it, and its really simple to install your own.
The MacPro’s are rumored to be updated with Thunderbolt soon so there may be reason to hold off if you can.

If you’re referring to the athletic camera movement and motion blur, I’m not sure there an on-line tutorial dealing with that and type.

Broadcast video adheres to different standards, in an 8 bit color space, blacks are not 0,0,0 and whites are not 255,255,255.

Not so. XML Import from FCP, not perfect but it work for most features that can be duplicated in PPro.

Pro Applications Update 2010-02 is still available (as of 5 minutes ago) via Software Update.
Just wish there was a way to download the dmg, my faith and trust in Apple is shaken.
