[Max Baxter] “that’s brilliant. Now how would I change it from being a stop watch to being a person. I thought if we did Circle to Square it’d work fine but the way you did it wouldn’t work changing between two files. Any thoughts?”
If the morph from one object to another happens in the nested composition, the rest is easy. Here is an example:

[Max Baxter] “I want the circle to fall like a piece of jelly then bounce right back up to be a square.
I’m already in that world of animation studying it for almost 2 years now. “
I meant no offence by my remark, I hope you didn’t take it that way.
In addition to the other excellent suggestions you might try using CC Flow Motion. I got this result after a few minutes tinkering.

[chris brett] “- if I use an Ease abd Wizz expression in an animation then mail the project file to another user do they need this installed before they can see the right result ?”
No. Ease and Wizz expressions remain with the project. You can safely send the project file to a colleague with the expression intact.

[Max Baxter] “I want to have a 2D circle to fall as a liquid reach the bottom of the frame and them come back up in a square; all in 2D. I don’t know how to do this and I can’t find an example of it.”
I’m having difficulty trying to visualize what you describe.
Do you mean that the falling circle becomes individual drops of liquid (think of ice melting and dripping) or that it pours to the bottom of the frame like water from a container?
In the first case you may be able to use a particle system, in the second a distortion. Otherwise George is correct, you have some frame-by-frame work ahead of you. Welcome to the world of animation.

Duduf’s IK uses a lookAt expression tied to the controller layer’s you create with the script.
I’m not sure what issue you’re having with the elbow’s. Duduf has some new tutorials with English sub-titles that explain the basis of the script.

[Lucy Slavinsky] “Brian, are you saying you are running AE 5.5 in Mavericks without major issues?”
Yes. It runs without major issues other than Motion Sketch.
-
[Walter Soyka] “CS5.5 is not supported on Mavericks.”
Walter is correct, Mavericks broke Motion Sketch in CS6 and earlier versions. Adobe has announced that CS6 will be updated to fix this issue, but CS5.5 is no longer being supported.
That said, I still have it installed and have used it without incident or issue on several recent projects – one expression heavy project where they were 10 times faster than CS6 or CC and another that required me to work in CS 5.5 for client compatibility reasons.
You can update to Mavericks if your’e willing to lose Motion Sketch and perhaps lose other functions as OS updates progress.

[Mark Boszko] “”Could not set permissions of the file cache directory.””
This may be a Mac OS permissions issue, not a Mocha issue. Have you tried repairing permissions with Disk Utility? Alternately you could boot into the Recovery Partition and try repairing permissions from there.
