If you edited the short from the long, then it might be easiest to just edit it again – but from the color corrected version. Otherwise it’s copy and paste filters time.

All I see in car commercials and other locally based quickly made commercials is LiveType! They don’t even customize the font effects. It’s starting to feel kida “video toaster.”

LiveType is great, but for doing customized stuff it’s interface is anything but logical.

You need to turn on text wrap. That will align things to the title safe area. I just tested what you’re doing and it works.

Problem is you’ve given them all a different location now, and you can’t copy and paste that location so you’re stuck on this one.

In the future, create one graphic, word wrap on, aligned right. Then you can adjust the vertical position with the y control in the title 3D control tab.

Keep changing the text and you’ll always be in the same place. Unless you change the number of lines in your text.

I think it’s Maxtor. Got it after my Hitachi died a couple years ago.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I even reformatted it nice and clean. Unjournaled of course.

Before that I did all the regular stuff too. Disk Warrior, permissions, repair, etc. All clean.

To add to the confusion, it seems that I can “capture now” fine to the system drive! Any bets on whether I’m losing an internal ATA? Plays back fine, but I can’t seem to write to it unless I mark in/out.

You can also do it all the same way iin FCP. But I’d go the AE way too.

There’s no reason not to. You’re talking about 2 completely different things… color correction and color safe. Your shot might look like crap and not match other shots. That would require color correction.

All your shots might match up just fine, but they were over exposed and the brightness needs to be brought down. That would require a broadcast safe filter.

I really don’t understand all the confusion.

Yeah, we’ve met. At the FCP meetings a few times when they were still off Piedmont.

You probably know the little company I’m talking about. They operate a small chain of home improvement stores… 🙂

But to be fair they are loading in all sorts of footage like beta, DVCam, vhs, whatever. They also route stuff from other rooms to other decks, to studios, etc. There really isn’t a much better solution than using component across the board, and then therefore the AJA IO for in/out. I just find it fun to mention to them that my little G4 and DSR-11 is all in all better quality since they’re going out to a DVCam deck.

Thank you. You have no idea how many people I’ve tried to make that point to since 1998. Somehow uncompressed still sounds better to them and then they output to a DV deck.
