Name aside they don’t have PowerPC chips in them either. I think Jobs is trying to keep things simple. The towers will go back to just Macinthosh Pro. The books will be MacBook pros. People are speculating the ibooks will be MacBooks. But I doubt it since they kept the iMac name.
Years ago when the first iMac was introduced Steve said “the i stands for internet.” And they advertised it as the easiest computer to get on the internet. But I guess the i stands for intel now.
All in all, since the MacBook pros seem to be missng a couple ports, maybe there is room for a better line… the ProBook.

Having watched the keynote, Steve pointed out that all of us pro users of Apple products will be offered the universal versions if we send our discs back in and pay Apple $49. So for Studio owners I’m not sure if that’s $49 per app (probably) or what.

In the atlanta market I’d say those numbers are way too high. Or I’m waaaay underpaid.
Freelancers around here change around $50/hr, but that is going up. Real good ones charge around $75/hr. Now I’m talking TV and corporate. If you’re talking films, who knows. There’s only so much film and netword work around here, sans Turner and HGTV type stuff.
So if you figure $50/hr would be a $100,000 salary, you’ve got to expect to get a lot less as salary. So I’d say an awesome salary would be around $75,000.
I’d expect those right out of school to have to practically work for free for awhile. If they can score a salary job with no experience, I’d figure in the $25,000 to $30,000 at best.
A smaller market a couple hours from Atlanta and you can almost cut that in half. But when a 4 br house out there costs 100k, who cares?

Yeah, I’d be incredibly surprised if TV shows in Europe weren’t shot on film. Video just looks so amateurish by comparison. Especially in color and exposure latitude. And visually, if it’s shot interlaced, it looks even more amateurish. I’ve not seen anything on BBC that really grabbed me as video, but the accent is so distracting you know…

Surely you jest. I know you can figure it out. But just the usual centered 100% wide and 100% tall table with the flash centered in the cell.
Then, below that table, just put a regular table with your “extra” content. The top table always stays 100% tall (which is based on the window size). So that always pushes the other content down, where you can scroll to it.

Thanks. Looks like the client likes just the grey without the outline. We’ve been going for a less is more kind of thing. But it needs something to give it structure since sometimes the right or center column can be very long.

Actually no. Nested sequences are kinda tricky. I forget the exacts, but there are a few rules. For example copying and pasting a nested sequnce creates two nests that both refer to the same sequence. However if you duplicate via option dragging a nest, the new nest is it’s own entity. Or vice versa. I forget.
Also, if you were to duplicate a sequence you’ll get the same problems. Nests become stand alone entities in that case I think. So play with it a little to figure out how your nests are becoming “stand alone.”

How nice that nobody in all these posts actually told you the way it’s designed to be done. Simply match frame the clip into the viewer, change it’s speed, then edit it back in. At that point you get to remain in control, deciding on whether the in or out point stays in place via regular editing methods.
