-18 is extremely low. That’s about where your tone should be. Your average peak level can be 10 over that, -8, with peaks right up to 0 if you want, but that’s a little tight. I try to keep peaks at around -3 or -4.

Perhaps if you engineered it in reverse. Create an application that can be downloaded from your site. That app would then browse your media files in a custom browser and download them. Then when they’re ready, they’d click burn.
But I don’t know of any way to create a DVD with a web browser and a DVD burner. If you’ve ever used DVD creation software there’s more to it than burning a media file to a disk. There’s menus and stuff to create, so something would have to create all that.
Perhaps you could develop a server-side app that collects their choices, creates a dvd disk image, and then that image could be downloaded by the user. They would have to then manually burn that image to a DVD. Not sure if you could make that happen automatically without putting some sort of application on their machine.

Not sure how that works, but usually I start out with a client by having them go to lunarpages.com and purchase their domain name, then forward the login/ftp info to me. I would prefer not to be involved with owning or hosting their domain name. It’s all theirs. If they want to use someone else later then they can without having to involve me.
But if someone didn’t want to be involved in any way, then sure I’d buy the domain for them and mark it up and bill them + my time, etc. I’d charge a premium for that, because now I’ve created an ongoing business issue of having to keep up with which site requires renewal, etc. And what if I quit designing sites? I don’t want to have any litigation coming my way a couple years down the road.

So what is “title crawl?” Is it the name of the movie, or an effect you’ve added. I’ve never seen an “AE effects” error message in FCP. Memory is referring to RAM, and rendering is referring to rendering an effect, not the exporting or compresion of the quicktime.
So first I’d make sure your entire sequence is rendered before you export. Possibly you just don’t have enought RAM for FCP to keep up with all the rendering and exporting at once, which is why the smaller sections work. But you should render first anyway, since the export renders are only temporary, and lost after the export is complete.
How much RAM do you have? What version of QT are you using? You should be using QT 6, not 7. Perhaps not even QT 6.5. If you decide not to upgrade FCP, you can’t keep upgrading the OS and QT.

Are you in FCP or AE? If AE, you apparently don’t have enough RAM. How much RAM does your system have, and what other apps are open?

I usually surf the web while batch capturing in DV format all the time if I’m on a G5. G4 would be pushing it.

Don’t know if this is your issue, but the matte points have always ignored the motion tab settings. So if you’ve moved the image to the lower right, then they’ll be offset to the upper left, etc.
I generally try to adjust the garbage mattes before I make motion tab adjustments.

You apparently don’t understand. Text, whether text or a graphic, may not be visible on a television if outside the safe area. Different TVs cut off different amounts of the image. That’s all there is to it.

If you have a DV deck I’m assuming you own a television or a video monitor. If so, hook that up to the video out of the DV deck. If you are buying a plasma for this purpose, hook IT up to the DV deck, NOT the computer port. Computers don’t display video as interlaced video with correct color, etc.
