Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy plasma or lcd

I edit with a quad dual core G5, with a 20 inch apple display. I was wondering if it would be worth and adequate, to attach to the second port, a plasma or a lcd display as a second monitor to show the canvas to my clients. Now we are working in DV resolution, but in the near future we will work in hdv. Should it look good.

    thanks

The Canvas on FCP should never be used for editing or to show your work to a client as the Canvas is degraded in quality over the actual video output. You want to use the video output of your deck, or a video card to show your clients.

I run a Sony PVM Broadcast monitor and a Panasonic Professional Plasma off a Kona 2 card here.

If you have a DV deck I’m assuming you own a television or a video monitor. If so, hook that up to the video out of the DV deck. If you are buying a plasma for this purpose, hook IT up to the DV deck, NOT the computer port. Computers don’t display video as interlaced video with correct color, etc.
