I’ve found the paypal option can be a great solution because you don’t have to modify your site one bit. All you do is add a simple button that says add to cart (or whatever you want it to say).
Shopping cart software like OSCommerce, Cubecart, etc. will create an entire site for you that resembles amazon, with suggested products, similart products, reviews, etc. Too much for my needs as well.

Check with your web host first. A good one (lunarpages.com) costing all of $6.95 a month has all sorts of scripts available and preconfigured for their servers through their control panel. Everything from forums, shopping carts, polls, email forms, counters, and what not.

Oddly I usually find that PC users that have LCDs tend to be able to view videos better than the CRT users. For some reason (gamma) PC CRTs are just dark as hell. In the past video was actually washed out on computer screen because analog video had an elevated black level, but now with DV there is a true black level. But it further crushes the blacks, making videoi on PCs (not macs) look really dark. The answer is to adjust the gamma in your compression program (compressor, sorensen squeeze, cleaner, etc.) to make the clip as washed out as you can handle on your mac, and probably just slightly dark on PCs.

You have to convert your .9 to 1. Using DV as an example, 720×480 is not a 4:3 format on the computer screen, since it will be displayed as 1 instead of .9. You could convert that to 640×480 for the computer screen to see it in the correct perspective. Or 320×240 or any other 4:3 ratio as Curtis mentioned.

And because there still isn’t a replacement processor out yet for the G5 quad, since the current Core duo, etcs don’t run in Quad formation, they would be about the same or slower than a quad G5. Yes, they’d beat the dual G5s, but the whole thing would be a messy lineup.

There is no such thing. The last PPC version is 5.0.4. 5.1.x is the jump to universal. You could try installing 5.0.x and see if it runs under rosetta emulation, but I’m guessing it would be ususeable or reject it.

The photos weren’t shot in DV. They’re jpegs or tiffs or something similar, right?
But you don’t need to go uncompressed for good quality imagery. A good bit of broadcast television is coming off DV.
