Seems you could easily add a small bit of data to the clip in the timeline that details WHAT keyword collection it was added FROM. IOW simply reproduce the browser state at the moment of addition to the timeline. Maybe it was a search, smart collection, favorites, or keyword(s) collection. But to bring up that state would be really helpful.

X definitely should know somehow which keyword collection the clip came from when match framing. F should take you to the keyword collection it came from and shift F to the source in the event.

September 15, 2016 at 3:16 pm in reply to: How to isolate (mask) person walking in front of TV screenCan you edit out the person walking in front of the TV? Probably not if there’s other things going on that are needed. So then it’s back to masking/Royo. You can either root the TV, or root the person. Putting green on the TV isn’t an option. You’d have to roto to get green in the tv. Might as well roto the person and put what you want in the TV.
Why would it be hundreds of frames? How slow is this person? And why would it require adjusting every frame? Are they dancing? Doing sign language? A person walking by is often a pretty uniform shape. A start mask, end mask and a few Keyframes in between is sometimes all you need.
SliceX might help automate.

Just looks like you stretched out the text window something HUGE. So huge it goes off the bottom. Have you tried scrolling down? The stuff you’re looking for should be below the image you’ve provided.

Once you’ve built this simple example below, you’d start adding options galore. Maybe have the move before the next bubble animates in. Right or left side of screen. Spring in or not, etc.

September 9, 2016 at 8:36 pm in reply to: Need to keyframe a rig snapshots in FCP X. Can’t figure it out.Why not create the effect as a title. Make it one message bubble that pushes pops up from below the bottom edge of the screen. The animation speed could simply be constant with a build in marker. So then you can stretch it out as long as you need in FCP X. Make it optional which side of the screen you want it to be on. Left or right. Then, you simply keep adding message bubble effects above. Because it’s a title effect, it will affect everything below it. So the second layer of the effect will slide up the screen and drag the layer below it. So no key framing needed. Just drop the effects into FCP and drag them out to length. Wherever you add a new message it’ll automatically slide up the messages that have been added earlier. Make sense?
Better yet, just get Deyson Ortiz’ messenger pack!

Apple is demoing real time collaboration in iWork apps. That would be a likely move for FCP X as well. We’ll see!
