What’s the difference? The library exists in the browser. All the disclosure triangles work the same. Except in the case of ACTUAL groups where for some reason the keyboard doesn’t do it. But option click still does. It’s been option click as far back as I remember.

December 1, 2016 at 8:49 pm in reply to: best way of sharing projects with different editors? So if everything they need is in an event, simply highlight the event and select file>copy event to new library.
After that completes, since they don’t have the media already, open the new library, select the library and in the library preferences pane choose to store the media IN the library and then choose consolidate media. It’ll give you the option of original or optimized or proxy etc. I don’t see what the point of copying the original would be if you’ve transcoded it. By the same means if you need to same the space, I wouldn’t see the point in copying the optimized over because they can just create that on their end if they need it. If it’s h264 based 1080p and they have something other than a MacPro, they shouldn’t need to optimize.

All you can do is place the image you want in the exact center of the timeline. For example on a 10minute timeline the thumbnail is whatever is at 5 minutes.

November 29, 2016 at 5:24 pm in reply to: Effects, key frames not transferring to different machineCool. Just be sure that you double check it worked when you do it. I absolutely couldn’t get it to work on that project today until I created a new consolidation.
Interesting thing I also noticed. If your project is putting all the motion content in the library, and then you consolidate, this will not come along. It will revert to the templates folder. For example what I’m doing is highlighting the project in the library and choosing to create a new library from the project. In the new library you’ll have to reconsolidate the motion content.

November 29, 2016 at 4:26 pm in reply to: Effects, key frames not transferring to different machineI had to recreate the consolidated library and consolidate the effects again and this time it worked. Something was awry with the original consolidated project I guess.
So this does kinda beg the question of licensing. Sure FxFactory based plugins have licensing, as do some of the major MVFX ones, but for the multitude of plugins out there this just makes it easier to accidentally break that license agreement? And whose fault is that? Apple or the editor?
Sorry to hijack!

November 29, 2016 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Effects, key frames not transferring to different machineUpdate – it just seems that my system is dysfunctional. Apparently no effect/title/generator/transition will consolidate into the library on this project. Not sure why.

November 29, 2016 at 3:55 pm in reply to: Effects, key frames not transferring to different machineI learned something new today that may or may not be related. In trying to consolidate a project for archiving, I merged all the motion content into the library. But guess what. Nothing consolidated into the library. Turns out I only have one effect that isn’t standard… Ripple TitleMations. And it’s an FXFactory title. It should’ve copied I figured. But I’m guessing either because it’s got copyright protection or because it’s fxplug or something that it doesn’t get copied.
Which is actually good if I want to archive something for a client and they haven’t purchased said plugins, then they can either purchase them or bring the project back to me.
Kinda wish my BretFX plugins had this copy protection too!

November 29, 2016 at 3:50 pm in reply to: Copy and PASTE multiple story lines- not possible?I didn’t even know shift did that.
But even easier, just draw a marquee around the chosen secondaries. It will actually select the innards of the secondaries, but it still works the same. Problem is when you select the container and the inner as you discovered.
Glad it helped.
