    Thanks for the quick feedback!

This seems to be a different workflow.

If I was to setup a premiere project on a “non blackmagic” machine, I would use either Native HDV, or cineform.

Can this timeline be opened on a michine with BM and output?

Or do I do as stated in your post, then import the sequence into the new project?

    cheers

  • Also, just a quick note.

The Mojo SDI is “STANDARD DEF” only!

    Great question Danny!

I too am interested in nutting out the best HDV workflow. Maybe it’s time BM put an HDV FAQ info page up for premiere, vegas and Final cut users.

I’d like to have a couple of Premiere suites cutting native (or cineform)HDV from Z1’s via firewire, and one machine with a BM HD card outputting via SDI, in HD or SD. The appeal for me is being able to offline on say a laptop, native HDV, then simply play this timeline out of the BM card on the desktop machine.

I’m sure somebody on this forum has the answers.

    Thanks in advance

I think you will find there is an option in the canopus capture settings…something like…”make Microsoft DV compatible”

    THis might help you.

I haven’t upgraded to pro 2 yet because of the incompatibility with the storm.

Looking at options now. Canopus has lost my business. Scaleable Technology my @$$!

    Thanks

Yes, I need to output SD SDI for our current production, whilst moving onto HD for future projects. We can’t just leap into HD unfortunately.

  • I too have been patiently waiting for new options. Canopus has stranded my storm!

As interesting as this looks, it seems a little on the rich side, compared to options from, say, Blackmagic.

As for HD. Anybody who says” I have no need for HD “….get with the program! You may not need it now, but If your

The question you need to ask yourself is where are your productions heading.

If HD is on the horizon, go the gruntiest system you can get your hands on. I don’t believe that Matrox card will be much use in HD production. CPU’s will always give you the goods.

If you told me 2 years ago we would be cutting HD on our PC’s without dedicated hardware, I would have laughed nervously, now…..mmmmmmm…..who’s laughing?
