So when you say pro-res, you mean make it XD cam? My other editor just finished doing just that, and we did a short test QT, and the issue seems to have cleared up.

But I wasn’t sure if I should be using an Apple pro-res setting – that doesn’t seem to be a choice available in the settings pulldown.

I’ve never been able to see video in my external monitor if I edit in anything other than a SD timeline. (I suspect that’s because of the JVC deck I’m using). We have a Matrox MXO 2 box on order, but I won’t have it for a couple of weeks.

I’ll try out the other suggestions you made. Thanks very much Alan.
