I use Media Composer with the Nitris DX breakout box. I import avc intra 100 files from the Panasonic P2 cards. This system is amazing. This format requires no transcoding whatsoever and as soon as the files from the P2 card are copied to the Avid Media Composer, they are immediately ready to use in your timeline. If fact, if you copy over files from several P2 cards they are automatically put in order in the bin and are ready to use in the timeline, with NO transcoding required!

I have exactly the same problem with subclips, except that I didn’t change any speeds. In fact when I click on the subclip in the project list, the icon video shows the correct video, but when dragged to the source monitor or timeline, the audio is correct, but the video is incorrect and from a completely different section of the original clip. I am using Vista 64 with the Xena 2K card.

May 6, 2009 at 4:20 am in reply to: CS4 & New Vista64 Drivers ??? ASIO Driver Nope

I am also having problems with the new CS4 drivers, but with Vista 64. After waiting for the CS4 drivers for about 6 months and finally hoping to use the new CS4 Production Premium software, several problems have come up. I am trying to open a project creating originally in CS3 into Premiere Pro CS4. The audio continues to conform each time I open the project after saving it. Also, the conformed audio files are continuing to built on my hard drive and do not overwrite the previous ones. After creating a title and placing it on the timeline, I get a green screen and no title. After contacting AJA about the numerous problems (many undiscovered as yet), they say the problem will be corrected “very soon”. That was 11 days ago and no fix.

I haven’t tried mixed formats, but I am “crash” importing without original tape timecode from the SDI output from my DVCPRP50 machine. Also I’m using digital audio from the DVCPRO50 with two tracks. Although I have no machine control and cannot therefore batch digitize clips, the video and audio in the timeline look fantastic. I know Adobe only supports the Xena LS card for Premiere Pro 2.0, but that card does not have component inputs which I occasionaly need. The guy from AJA wants me to check back with him around the 25th of April, to see if an NAB solution has come up. For now, however the work is starting to pile up. The Xena care works great except for this machine control issue.
