I have the option checked, and while it seems to work for images larger than the canvas, it’s not upscaling a smaller image to fit the canvas.

I will look into the Processor script.

    Thanks!

  • Yeah it was definitely a long shot, and I pretty much knew the answer, I just wanted to make sure there weren’t any advanced parallax or vanishing point tips for AE. And I’m not so much concerned about the shadows and zoom length, if I could get a decent pan going those could be easily photoshopped I think.

Unfortunately those were the best satellite images I could find. I might just try to do some kind of really quick rotation on the first image with a lot of motion blur and cut it with the second image at the end. It could be convincing enough for a cool effect.

Even though you’re using a PC, you can still export to Quicktime. I like the Quicktime Photo-JPEG codec, lossless quality with smaller file sizes than the Animation codec.

  • Thanks guys.

I initially tried Andrew Kramers technique and got ok results, and thanks John for your technique as that seems to have a little more versatility, but in the end it seems like I’m going to have to do the same masking for each.

It looks fine on my PC. It could be due to the fact that it is an avi and that’s why it looks bad on your mac, I don’t know.

Anyway, I wasn’t at the shoot, so I had no control over the look of the shot and what compression they used to export this sample. And it was shot on a DVX100.

And thanks for all of these suggestions, I’ll definitely listen to this podcast too.

  • sorry, I meant capture them in SD, not HD.

    thanks a lot guys.

I kind of figured all of this was true, I just had to be 100% sure.

    even if it accepts DVCAM?

I’m not even so worried about it being captured in HD, it’s going to ultimately be converted to SD anyway, I just need to get it captured somehow without paying a ton of money for a company to do it.
