Thanks but that is not it. It happens if you go long or short and these are (for the most part) stills anyway. It seems to be a bug to me.

  • FWIW, there is an easy to overlook control in FCP Ease In/Out option. A second ‘handle’ on the eased keyframe that controls the speed at which the object passes through the keyframe. But even with that controlling Zoom and Pan smoothly at the same time remains a challenge.

BTW, Lyric’s plugin is broken for FCP 5. I was all set to give it a try till I found that out. If someone would write a basic 3D (2.5D) with true XYZ rotation and position all with bezier handles they could sell boatloads of them.

    John,

I wish you guys could create a similar plug-in that zooms ‘out’ instead. In other words, the target areas would be where your graphic would zoom down to. We do tons of that, with logos, books, tapes, text, etc. The current keyframing in FCP is miserable for smooth zooming and panning at the same time, because scale and center use different keyframe smoothing designs (ease in/out vs. bezier). I often have to jump out to Motion or AE just to get decent keyframe control on simple moves.

This is a huge defiency in FCP in my opinion and maybe you guys could improve the situation.

    Thanks,

    Brad
