Most pro shooters attach the mic to an arm on a lighting “C-Stand”.
VERY sturdy (if you put a sand-bag on one of the legs) and can be quickly readjusted to any height and angle.

You can buy all kinds of clamps an arms for these.

If you don’t have access to an outboard TC reader (FCP alone can’t read TC from an audio track), you’ll just have to manually match the audio from the DAT to the
Wild” audio from the camcorder’s microphone.If you did not record any “wild audio” on the camcorder… well, you may have a problem.

MANY times.If you can, make special arrangements with the show’s crew to be there early for a pre-show white-balance :
They’d give you a “typical” lighting scene on the empty stage, you’d WB at that rime, then leave the camera that way for the rest of the show.If this is not possible,
Set your camera’s WB to “bulb” (Incandescent light).Regardless, the colored lighting (and light DIMMING) will affect your image.
Nothing you can do about it. That’s just how recording a stage-show (which you have no control over) works.Actually, the “Incandescent” setting should be fine for the “average” lighting conditions of most stage shows.

I’ve seen SFX for plays done with just a “sampling” musical keyboard.
Each key of the musical scale was assigned its own SFX.

“iTunes Music Store” selections and FCP are not directly compatible.
This is by design for copyright protection.iTunes CAN convert “NON iTunes Music Store” selections to 48 kHz AIFF files (I do this every day), but iTunes will not *DIRECTLY* convert “iTunes Music Store” selections to another format *for FCP EDITING*.

You can use the 3-Band EQ and roll-off the highs a bit.
But HISS is the kind of “continuous” noise that a program like Bias “SoundSoap” can help remove.
