If the audio is from another recorder than the camera, it’s dual system sound.
And if you want to replace the audio from the cam, that’s normal.
it all is very, very easy if you shoot with common timecode.
(Most of the time the BWF recorder is the master.)

The remark means that you have to write the patch ☺

Most people use common timecode for dual system sound. More reliable and very easy. Why do you want to go the most difficult route?

You could phase reverse one, then mix and see if the resulting volume is zero.
But if you have different sources, I don’t think there is anything.

  • Not possible if the sources have BITC I would think, but if you have an effect that can do ‘duration’ as BITC you are done.
(I think avid can do this.)
It would be easy to script though based on an EDL.

You should have done this before the shoot.
ANYONE could have told you to shoot 23.976 or 24 (or double if you need slomo, or both progressive and interlaced out.
But no, you only now do some research.
    Short answer: you are screwed.
Long answer: no way this is going to look good and be easy (as it could have been), so you are screwed big time.

    July 1, 2018 at 12:04 pm in reply to: H 265 4K bitrate

who cares about the actual bitrate?
H265 is supposed to be half the size of H264, and Adobe thinks H264 has to be 8 times the size as I use for deliveries. (I encode outside Adobe stuff.)
H265 is delivery only, so smaller is better, as long as it looks good.

June 19, 2018 at 9:39 pm in reply to: Batch Capture without FireWire??

Why not use firewire then? A deck will set you back 30 bucks or so…
Or, capture entire tapes and use the database stuff to create offline clips in aid to razor, or trough EDL conversion, or let my Recut do the cutting (see my site), or have Resolve cut it up.
If you want to have entire tapes, it’s not worth the hassle of a preroll for each clip IMHO.
(Back in the days I never did it, I spend fortunes on RS 422 decks as FW machine control for batch capture is unbearable slow.)

    Last time.
READ WHAT I WRITE (and try to understand at least half of it, then you don’t make these stupid posts.)
I KNOW what it means, but it is A WRONG NOTATION.
I work with 25i all day, for the last 30+ years.

Oh, my reply is going to take some time and will not be mine as it will be moderated, as I used the ‘f’ word.
    (very bad, may cause confusion.)
