Why can’t people just stop replying to this guy.
He does not take advice, he has done nothing significant nor does he tries to do anything himself, claims to have done filmschool but has less knowledge than a teenager after an afternoon of googling but he keeps asking for attention and gives nothing back.It’s pure waste of time and bandwith. (And no, I’m not stating that as an opinion.)

I can’t believe this. An ISP (and in some sense CC is alike) is not fully responsible for the content. In fact, if my ISP spies on my mails, it would be the same as the mailman opening my letters. But, granted, US laws are strange and a very good reason not to go to the US anymore, but all this is becoming highly political and forbidden banned contagious OT ☺

I totally disagree with Tim about being forced to monitor private messages, but that is beside the point.
What I totally do agree on is NOT implementing such a service.
I would immediately opt out of direct messaging on this forum. Not cause of the private issues, but I hate to answer the same question again, and it is nice to build a database where people can find answers.
(And yes, I also had private questions that, If I respond, send back to the forum instantly.)And yes, people who need me outside the forum know where to find me, and that works out just fine.

The sample rate and bitdepth have nothing to do with frame rate. 48 fps is a frame rate for special fx slomo shots for movies in the 35 mm era, so why bring it up? It makes no sense at all.
Frame rate in BWF is just a piece of metadata to tell other software how to do the calculation between SAM (samples after midnight, as time is desribred in a BWF file)
The actual value is of no meaning at all if it is not honoured by the player.In case of setting the timestamp to 00:00:00:00, the value of the SAM wil be 0, as zero samples have passed since midnight.
And that will be the case in all frame rates.
Setting the value will only aid the time display in the player software, and only if there is a drop frame TC display.Bouke

Captions are not subtitles. It is just metadata in the file containing text, color and position.
SRT does NOT hold postition and color in most instances. (Although it ‘is’ sorta kinda possible.)IOW, the end user set creates the captions on the fly, normally ugly with a solid box behind it. Nothing you can do about that.
(It’s 40 year old technology made for low bandwidth analogue addition to existing tv broadcast)

Yes, and as you agree, it is a very bad / stupid way of describing normal speed interlaced.

Not always. 60p (as well as 30p) actually exists. (Mostly in consumer / action cams.)
So, sometimes it’s 60 or 30, sometimes it’s 59.94/29.97.

Why? If the mix looks good, it is good. (Especially motion graphics can be interlaced in a progressive sequence.)

note, 60 i DOES NOT EXIST. It’s 60 p, or 59.94 p.Do NOT go to 30p. Go to 29.97 i.
Not sure about Premiere, but if you use AE, and set interpret footage correct, and put the footage in a 29.97 i comp, you should be fine. (It will time stretch, not sure about the sound. That should be (unnoticable) pitch shifted. Check for sync on long takes. Short (under a minute) should never be an issue.
