Hmm.. “Scale to framesize” seems to make it work. Atleast for a while.
No problem when using Mercury Playback Engine software only – all renders green.
With MPE GPU Acceleration it occasionally stops when reaching the yellow marked dissolve.

I have another machine with Matrox Axio HD and LE and from reseaching for mobo’s for them I came across this:

Dont know if it can help in any way…..

You will have the sound and great posssibilty to switch between realtime and slow if you record in 60P. Overcranking give you better picture performance but I do not think it will be noticed at a race (and no sound). You’ll also have more record time when not overcranking.

A very good quistion – there seems to be no documentation on that – I have orderd an 4800 card because I supposed it would be the best but I had the same thougt !!

I also wonder if the mercury engine will help effects only and not the play back of a 1280×720 50P stream on a i7 computer.

April 8, 2010 at 7:08 am in reply to: XDCAM EX for AVID as MXF

    Hi
This is something I have had a lot of troubles with too.
I think he must have the newest AVID software to make it work. One of my cliens cannot import my uploaded EX files but when I bring it to them on a SD card – they can. Just like when they import P2 files AVID can recognize the card and file structure – and import the files.
My biggest problem is that AVID cannot recognize P2 (MXF) files when exported from Adobe Premiere.

    Hi
You have to export without marking the Avid codec when exporting.
AVID is strange – Guess they just wont allow any other systems to work with them.

Try to make a new sequence and choose an XDCAM EX/1080I project (50i for pal country and 60i for NTSC country)
    (File/new/sequence)

Then your sequence fits your footage – then there should be no problem.

    March 9, 2010 at 10:52 pm in reply to: EX3 or HVX500

    I do not have a HPX-500 but a HVX-2100 and a EX3.
They can be mixed but the EX3 makes better and sharper pictures than the 2100. I have severe problems with the 21oo that sometimes just not will start up and absolutely no problems with the EX 3. I have the 2100 because some cliens ask for P2 files.
If you workflow is in your house, I would consider the PMW-350 EX camera for use with broadcast optics – this is my next choice of camera.
