Nothing specific to CS 5.5 except for an install option. But I know we fixed a few bugs that affect Premiere CS 5 plugin.

May 7, 2011 at 10:48 am in reply to: Avid and Boris – Between a rock and a hard placeDouglas,
Sorry to hear about your problem. One quick solution that I can offer off the top of my head is to run Avid-approved driver and disconnect Open GL in Avid FX. Depending on what you do in Avid FX, turning off Open GL may not affect your speed. In Boris RED/Avid FX OpenGL is only used for preview acceleration and not for final rendering. To turn Open GL off, go to the Preview menu and turn Open GL Mode to off. Rest assured that we are working with Avid on solving this problem.

Yes, you have to wait for Boris RED 5.02 update. The current installer does not include Vegas install option. The good news is that you’ll not have to wait long.

Freddie, I’m sorry it did not work for you. (It works for many other users.) You do not specify what exactly does not work. We test with sequences which are hours long so, perhaps, duration is not an issue. If you send us the sequence you are having a problem with, we may be able to help you further.
If you are trying to link with AMA you need the latest Avid release and run it on the latest Apple OS.

In RED 5 we introduced many new transitional effects such as swish pans, rack defocus, blur dissolves, lens and lights-based transitions. I reviewed existing Sphere Transition filter and I do not immediately see your problem. With Wrap Percentage set to 0 the sphere unwraps to cover the entire screen. The difference, perhaps, is in the image size or PAR. Did you try to use Correct Non-Square Pixels checkbox? Anyway, let’s exchange pictures off line to better understand the problem you are having.

Are you editing HD? 3Meg of memory may be cutting it too close. We need to know what version of Avid you are using. Perhaps the best is to contact our support so that we can reproduce the problem you are having.

Freddie, we are looking into your case now. Someone will get back to you shortly. The support person you’ve been working with is on vacation for the past two days. The support record indicates that your trial version may have expired.

April 28, 2011 at 6:49 pm in reply to: RED 5 64bit does not show up in the Sony Vegas Pro 10 UISorry about that. If you read carefully, the first RED 5.0 released did not include a Vegas plugin. We are waiting on an update from Sony. While I can not comment on our partner’s plans, I suggest to keep an eye on our own newsletters for latest news on host support.
