  • The biggest disappointment with Teranex processor is that it can deinterlace only when capturing 🙁 Meaning if you have your footage already captured, you need to add lossy processing to do the deintelacing. Say you have an interlaced DV footage you want to deinterlace. You can’t feed the Teranex with your data over Thunderbolt, let it decompress, do the processing and output uncompressed data back. You have to decode the DV (or whatever you have) on your own, encode it (losses!) into what the Teranex is capable of capturing from, feed its inputs with the resulting signal and only this way you can make it do the deinterlacing job:

    DV->decode->encode->teranex input->decode->process->encode->teranex output->END

    instead of :

    DV->teranex input->decode->process->encode->output->END
