Update: My Media 100 suite editing app let me import them with no issues. PPro…still no…only the first clip. P2CMS…still only sees the first clip.
At least I can move on and edit.
I’d still appreciate any insight as to why this might be happening.

Continuing to ponder why this may be ocurring…

I notice a difference w/ the lastclip.txt file compared to a couple other good ones I still have on my Mac.

The good ones say “Locked” along the top of the file’s window when viewed in TextEdit on Mac. Also, when looking at the file via “Get Info”, at the bottom, the list of users with Permissions has the users “grayed out” on the good ones and not “grayed out” on this sketchy one.

In the two pics I’ve attached, the first two LastClip.TXT files are good and the third one is the one in question.

I have an AJA LHi card and it works splendidly w/ Media100 Suite 2.1.1 on Mac OS X 10.7.4

Media 100 Suite imports AVCHD footage via a third party app called “Clip Wrap.”
When you go to import and see all the file options ( P2, SxS, etc.), you select AVCHD and it automatically opens Clip Wrap. Clip Wrap converts the clips to a file format that Media 100 likes, like Pro Res, etc.

  • Thanks Floh…as always.

  • Thanks.
I was just curious because currently…using driver v.8.0, I can’t get video out of my AJA Kona card for Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5. I read that driver v.9.0 remedied that. Again, it is no big deal because I mainly cut in Media 100 but it would be nice to have that functionality in other apps.

I have been using Media 100 for years and love it. The GUI is great. It’s really easy to learn, super fast, lots of real-time effects and titles. A great app that doesn’t get enough press. Download it for free and use it for for 14-days. I think you will like it. It also comes with Boris RED 5 too. You can also bounce FCP 7 projects back and forth between it and FCP.

I also saw that Media 100 Suite is now listed as a partner product on Digital Juice’s web page. Boris needs to keep finding more avenues to advertise Media 100. Especially push that it includes Boris RED 5 and works harmoniously with FCP7 and CS5.5

You’re gonna really dig Media100. I think all these folks who are looking for an alternative to FCP should give it a try. Boris really seems to be missing the boat (marketing-wise) on urging editors to try it.

  • They definitely need to advertise in the trade mags. Also, hit all Boris users hard…reminding them of Media 100 and its integration with RED. I watched a live webinar on RED 5 yesterday and I couldn’t help but think that for folks interested in RED 5, encourage them to download M100 Suite v2 trial…which if I recall, includes RED 5.
