I don’t know about image sequences since I’ve never used that feature, but I can say that Vegas has supported tif files for several years. My best recollection is at least as far back as version 6.
I started using PNGs because, during the course of a project using lots of still images, Vegas was taking a very long time to reestablish its window after I had jumped to a different window such as Internet Explorer and was returning to Vegas. Someone told me that Vegas was calling Quick Time to reopen each tif image. I don’t know if that was true, but it prompted me to switch to PNGs.

My understanding is that a “movie” is one long piece of video. It is not a collection of individual clips. That’s probably where your “limitation” is coming from. If you want a collection of individual clips, you need to pick a different “theme”.
I don’t think DVD Architect is generally relied on for renders. Renders are done in Vegas, generally using the DVD Architect templates, and DVD Architect then organizes and burns the DVD.

To repeat, Vegas does not “change” audio files to .sdks. It creates a second file, with the sdk extension, when it processes an audio file. It does not move, delete, or change the original audio file.

Vegas creates .sdk files when it opens an audio file. It does nothing to the .wav file. So, your files have not been converted, but I have no idea where they are. I never run a defrag unless my system is backed up. That means I can recover if the defrag goes awry. What defrag program did you use?

Sure! Try running the capture in Win 7 64 using a 32 bit version of Vegas Pro.

I thought somebody already said it. You probably have 32 bit codecs. They won’t work in Vegas 64. You need to work in Vegas 32.

Don’t do anything. If Vegas sees a mono source, it will feed it to both the left and right channel.

Perhaps you should tell us which version of DVDA you used, and how you prepared your DVDA project. What did you render out of Vegas (video and audio formats), and how did you bring them into DVDA.
DVDA is all I ever use. It works just fine.
