Why not simply shift the audio 25 frames to put it in sync?

I’m wondering if the two channels are out of phase, and if you are getting significant canceling when you try to combine them into one channel of audio. What happens if you use only the left or right channel of the file in question?

I have gotten this type of shallow depth of field and extremely sharp focus from a Canon 5D II using a 70-200 IS with a 2.8 aperture. The Canon 5D III should be even better since it has more capabilities. I think the wise choice these days for a video camera is an SLR, but be prepared for sticker shock. The cameras, lenses, and supporting equipment are not for the budget minded.

October 31, 2012 at 5:14 pm in reply to: Best use of trimmer when editing a long clip?

I don’t use the trimmer to trim. I simply put the clip on the time line, and work on it there. I simply collapse, or roll, the clip back to my first starting point. Then I snip the clip between my first ending point and my second starting point. I can then roll the ends from the snip point to the first ending point and to the second starting point. If I subsequently want to extend the “sub clips”, I can simply roll the ends out as far as necessary. No trimmer is necessary, and I can copy and paste just as I would with trimmer clips.

Do you want to produce a stereo file, or simply assign them to the left and right channels in Vegas?

Version 10 also does that. It doesn’t seem to hurt anything. You wanted to exit Vegas anyway, and it works fine when restarted. I’m not seeing the need for concern.

I can’t help your time, but I’m saving a bundle now by using RW DVDs for testing purposes. I did have to upgrade my burner, which was a generic, to handle DVD-RW disks. Also, to save time, I just render and burn a few minutes of video to see how it looks on a TV.

Your site looks like its purpose is commercial. You have to obtain releases from every person that appears in the videos. You also need a release from every creator of a video that you use. The ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) has sample release forms on their site.

I used the denoiser in Sound Forge for many years, and always got good results. These days I use Izotope RX which also produces very good results.
