Ah, in typical fashion, after spending all weekend with the problem…I decided to transfer the video files to another drive and re-transcode and…no problems.

Sometimes I get this error message:
“The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50).”

For example when I try to empty the trash, etc. Something has been off…

All media is on the external drive (Firewire 800)
2TB Drive, 1TB free.
7200 RPM

New prores exports are doing the same thing…

Alas, it seems 29.97 progressive is not supported in Encore. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/421178?tstart=0

I’m going to try and convert to 24p in Media Encoder and see if that works.

Soon as I import it, in the project menu, it says that it needs to be transcoding. Before it’s even on the timeline.

Thanks for the reply, Jeff.

1.) As far as I know this is the settings I always use. Short films seem fine. I wonder if there’s something weird with longer content?

2.) My Default Transcode Settings are:
MPEG-2, 1440×1080, Frame Rate: 29.97, Upper Field First.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the original files any more. The clients hard drive was sent back. I was just told that the other blurays played fine in US players, but the Brazil bluray is still having a problem.
