Actually thinking it over, the replace with gap part isn’t necessary, just use the trim tool to roll over the segment that you want to rejoin. At any rate, this little thing alone has me 20% less frustrated with FCP X.

One correction to my previous message: The region changes to English (Japan) but it DOESN’T appear as it should. That was a mistake. It doesn’t even continue to work properly in motion if you close the project and reopen it.
