Keep in mind that the HVX200 has SD chips that are up rezed. Same with the HPX500.

If you are looking at low cost, but decent quality, check out: Sennheiser ME66/K6, Audio Technica AT897 or Rode NTG2. If you have even less $$ to spend, look at the AT875.

I haven’t tried the EX3 mount, but for some reason the mic mount on the EX1 does not snugly fit some pro shotgun mics.

You can transfer the HQ HD footage to computer with the clip browser software. Firewire will only give you the lower data rate SP HDV.

I have heard there have been power supply failures with those units.
Two people in one of my users groups reported this.
