I am still running on Version 11.5. I think I discovered some of my issues. I had stored my program files and some of my content such as graphic files on an external Firewire 800 drive. I think the CPU was have to think too much about the Firewire drive. I copied my files over to an internal drive and my problems diminished almost entirely.

How much Ram are you using on your system?

Maybe that will help your situation… Hopefully mine are resolved but time will tell.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Thank, will that encoder install into the Media 100 or will I have to use the flip4Mac software?

September 13, 2007 at 7:12 pm in reply to: DVD Authoring! What is best?

Thanks for the input. The process I have been using is exporting my completed Media100 prpgrams out as a dv/dvcpro-NTSC file with no compression on the audio from within Media100. iDVD encodes automatically once that file is brought into the iDVD project. It does do an encoding on the audio as well.

Where can I find Compressor? Is it another program I will need if I purchase FCP?

My frustration with this process is that Media100 has not addressed the issue of DVD authoring specifically with their software. FCP has made it very user friendly to buy their product but Media100 doesn’t give us all the tools to create the modern day video tape!… we still have to buy another editing suite on top of the Media100!

    Thanks for the advise.

January 8, 2007 at 6:14 pm in reply to: Bad render w/ Media100HD and Red 4.1–deadline

I was recently getting bad video renders from the Media100 HDe suite. Everything was rending poorly to the point of getting messages such as “Cannont play due to bad frams @….” Tech support recommend using the Media10HD codec for the rendering. It seeams to have solved my problem. I was using the Media100i codec and they said it was having issues in the newer suites.

    Worth a try.

Thanks for your recommendation. Have people been getting reliability with the SATA drives? I have been told conflicting reports.

    Thanks,
