You could be right, sometimes a window opens that asks if I want to go to Flash or play on a blu-ray player, I think there may be a conflict with the Roxio that I have in the computer but, never use ?

The original Canon 5D Mark II’s about 5 years ago came only with NTSC American video speeds, which was fixed by a Firmware Driver Download from Canon’s web site.
This Firmware Update fixed more than NTSC to Pal operating and made the camera very easy to use for Australian Broadcast other wise you did a speed conversion on the timeline .
This may be your problem.Phone Canon to see if your camera is current.

The first Canon 5 D Mark II’s released on the Australian market about 5 years ago had NTSC (American settings). It could be your camera may have been one of these and the Canon Driver download which should have been installed to correct this was not or was corrupted. Just worth a check ? What the settings were
I cannot remember.
The downloads amazingly fixed the issue without sending the camera body to Canon Technical Service in Sydney.Freelance Imaging & Video

Just put your card into the card reader in the Apple and see what happens ?

Understand, cannot help anymore, when I take Mov H 264 @ 1920 x 1080p 25 fps video off camera into Windows i7 Professional, the correct size comes off the camera. Looks like Apple Mac may be doing some thing it should not do.
Hope you can work it out.If your Apple Mac Monitor is only 1280 x 720 ,it may be trying to automatically downsize video ?
Let me know when you nail it.

November 6, 2015 at 11:21 pm in reply to: 5D Mk2 set to 1920×1080 24fps but files are 1280×720Hi Darren,
That is very odd. Try the Adobe Forum link and possibly Premiere Pro Forum. I doubt the Mac set up is the problem, but, it is here, when we use anamorphic ie. “Tape”See if you can e-mail Ann Bens, she is Dutch and a very bright cookie, on Premiere Pro Forum.Or ask a question . Other wise phone Ramon Daez, Canon Technical Manager, SYDNEY.for advice on the Canon. I do not think it is the problem. In my camera the movie recording sizes are
1920×1080 25
1920×1080 24
640×480 25720p
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThis chart shows the most common display resolutions, 720p being one of the 16:9 formats shown in dark green.
720p (a.k.a. HD) is a progressive HDTV signal format with 720 horizontal lines and an aspect ratio (AR) of 16:9 (1.78:1). All major HDTV broadcasting standards (such as SMPTE 292M) include a 720p format which has a resolution of 1280×720; however, there are other formats, including HDV Playback and AVCHD for camcorders, which use 720p images with the standard HDTV resolution. The number 720 stands for the 720 horizontal scan lines of image display resolution (also known as 720 pixels of vertical resolution), while the letter p stands for progressive scan (i.e. non-interlaced).[1] When broadcast at 60[note 1] frames per second, 720p features the highest temporal resolution possible under the ATSC and DVB standards. The term assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, thus implying a resolution of 1280×720 px (0.9 megapixels).
720i (720 lines interlaced) is an erroneous term found in numerous sources and publications. Typically, it is a typographical error in which the author is referring to the 720p HDTV format. However, in some cases it is incorrectly presented as an actual alternative format to 720p.[3] No proposed or existing broadcast standard permits 720 interlaced lines in a video frame at any frame rate.[4]
Why Premier Pro would be changing the size to a different pre-
set, that you should have set in premiere Pro for the Sequence</b> is a mystery. It looks like standard widescreen digital and not widescreen high definition ?Reset the Sequence properties in PP to 1920×1080 @25 fps and see what happens/
We used Apple Macs and we had issues ?????? Never with PC’s.
When I set my Canon 5 D mark II up to do what you do it just does not happen, the screen dump I sent you shows that. If you can see it .

November 6, 2015 at 3:12 am in reply to: 5D Mk2 set to 1920×1080 24fps but files are 1280×720I presume you have set Premiere Pro Sequence 1 to take the Digital DSLR to 1080p
setting.I am PAL here and I have no setting for 1280 x 720 at 24fps.Frankly, I would not use the cinema setting of 24fps which is the running speed of 35mm film. I come from a cinema background, you will not get the quality of color , sharpness of film, and I see no quality improvement in doing that, unfortunately film is nearly dead.1_capture1x.jpg
The use of 24 fps would be of use if you intend to copy to 35 mm film ????????????? as all projectors run at that speed.
Good luck…………
If you are in the USA use 30 fps, the video will look very good.
Ps. We have 100’s projects at 1920 x 1080 p running at 25 fps for blu-ray and it is stunning video. I can set the 5 D Mark II at 24 fps at 1920 x 1080p and that is what it is, provided you change the setting for the Timeline Sequence 1 in Premiere . > Check out >>>>> https://forums.adobe.com/community/premiereAnd ask them.
