Got the answer. It was a Mac display resolution issue. When I changed from “Default for display” to “Scaled” and chose the icon just to the right (“More Space”) of the Default, the jog control buttons appeared.

When using “Default for Display” with a large external monitor connected, the jog control button is visible on the large monitor, and not on the MBPro.

Thanks to David Weiss for talking me through this. No substitute, sometimes, for two people on the phone trying the same thing on different Macs.

I do not understand what you mean by “top menus.” Are you referring to Resolve’s drop-downs at the top of the screen, or to the system date/time at the top right? In either case, this is not working for me.

Thank you for trying to help!

This can also happen a lot when you are using multiple GoPro’s. You have to rename your files before editing, because many will have the same filenames. I ran into this on a location VNR, where half our shots mysteriously disappeared from the timeline because the clips we wanted had been overwritten by same-named files.

Thanks Hector. That is reassuring, actually. I’m new to Resolve and thought that I might have been doing something wrong.

You’re right; it’s no big deal.

    [David Roth Weiss] “OWC”

Thanks David and Shane. You are correct. You just check the “Includes” tab on the description. Here’s to OWC for NOT upgrading its old computers!

David, does this mark your shortest reply ever on the COW?

[Todd Terry] “I’ve also invented a diffusion system that seems to work really well, when I get a chance I’ll post a pic. “

    Hi Todd,

I’d love to see a pic of your diffusion rig.

[Malcolm Bernard] “so that the camera’s brightness meter read the card at 50%.”

I know this is an old post, but I’m curious – how does the EX1R’s brightness meter indicate 50%?

    Thanks.

Ned – For whatever reason, that link did not send me to a relevant story. Maybe the paywall interfered. I think I found the story you were referring to (Texas insurance rates skyrocketing). I did a search for the AP reporter’s name and found a bunch of informative stories. This seems to be his “beat.”
