    I’m looking for a backup Mac Book Pro with an older OSX suitable for FCP7.

    Do you have any suggestions for a vendor with good used machines that haven’t been updated?

    Yep, MacSales.com (OtherWorld Computing) has lots of refirb macs that are old enough to run 10.8 or 10.7.
