    @Michael Phillips

    Had the same issue and your solution worked for me. Thanks so much!

    FYI to others: I click on the audio speaker icon in AVID (pictured in the thread) and holding down my click, a little vertical slider appears just to the right of the icon. It’s a little clunky cus I still have to hold the mouse click down as I move my hover over the slider, but once you do, you can slide the volume up and down.

    May 7, 2013 at 10:26 pm in reply to: FCPX – sound not importing

    I’m having the same problem as described above. I’m trying to import H264 .MOVs (shot on a 5D), and once the clips are imported and transcoded in FCPX, there is no audio attached to the clips at all. No audio tab to click on in the Inspector.

    I have a feeling this may have something to do with my checking “Remove silent audio channels” upon import, even though I’ve confirmed that there is indeed quality audio “baked in” to the original H264 files.

    Is there a way to re-import just the audio to the video files if FCPX “removed” them upon import? Thanks!

    Hey all,
    I’ve been running in to the same problem importing P2 media. You know what we all have in common? This magic number:

    720

    Now that I have put some thought to it, I remember seeing a post in the Apple Forums (not taking the trouble to find it right now), where someone said they actually talked to an Apple Rep and they had said that there is indeed a known glitch/inability to import 720p footage of any kind from P2 media. They said “they are working on this.” THis is the best I got.

    In the mean time….. Log/Transfer with FCP7? Ay ay ay…..

    For the record, I actually love FCPX, just not with little treats like this.
