I see I had proved it worked in Windows 10 before. Something is different about Windows 11.

Build 250 and still not fixed. It will save trimmer markers with MOV files, but not MP4 or MXF. It will also not read or recognize markers saved with the media by previous versions of Vegas.

As I recall, it worked in Windows 10, but we now have new computers which are all Windows 11. I could be wrong about that but it would be difficult for me to determine that now.

In Vegas Pro 22, “Cannot save markers and regions. Either media is read-only, markers are not supported, or media is offline.” None of these are the case. I’m still using Vegas Pro 19 because of this problem (which works fine). I tried resetting/clearing all preferences and cache and it did not help. Just did another update too (Deep Learning), but no change. Compatibility mode did not help either. It does not read Markers that exist, made by Vegas 19.

I still have one computer on Windows 10 and can confirm that Vegas Pro 22 trimmer markers are saved and read. In Windows 11, under the trimmer window, the Save Trimmer Markers is greyed out. This is true on 4 work stations.

    Not that I’m aware of.

Build 194 would not save markers with media file. I updated to Build 239, and it seems to be working now. We use this feature a lot in editing and find it very useful.

I was able to fix things by doing a System Restore from a day or two before, which also restored the changes in Registry. I still don’t know why Media Player doesn’t work (“Class Not Registered”) but I primarily use other players anyway. Thanks.

Thank you for your insight. I will try to get help from someone here more knowledgable and you are leading us, I believe, in the right way. Unfortunately I used a script to make the changes, and I will first of all try to find the same one again, and then we will proceed from there. Hopefully I will be able to post in a few days with results.

All of a sudden, I have the same problem with .wdp extensions for renders with VegasPro22. The only things I can think of, is that I have trouble with Media Player not working, saying “Class Not Registered”. To resolved this, thinking is a registry problem, I followed a procedure in the CMD prompt to register the dlls in the registry. I expect that’s what caused it, but I don’t know how to fix it.
