Thanks for your input. Based on your rudeness and lack of “people skills” I am not surprised that you work in video production or broadcasting. Unfortunately, I work in marketing and do this once in a rare while, I am not employed at a media production company, nor do I care to be. Why are there so many people in your industry who make such a big deal out of everything? We’ve hired a shooter before and he was unbearable and pompous, just like yourself. Next time, why don’t you just politely let me know that I was a bit off base in my search for a light (which is just a light and will not necessarily increase revenue, drive sales or do anything which actually matters)

Looks like i may have to do just that. The show is all SD, with some old and some newer footage mixed in. Some of the original footage was likely analogue (maybe betacam, shot in what I believe is the early or mid nineties) and the other/newer footage was likely shot on DV. Anyways, I’ll definitely try that and which would you reccomend of the two? DVCPro 50 or Uncompressed 8-bit? I’ll do both but the system I edit on is very slow so I want to export using the best format option first.

Thanks. We’re definitely getting new hardware and systems (the gear hear is OLD), we just needed to do this as a one time/one off thing. It’s a full 28:30 infommercial so tape was the way to go. Normally it would be electronic submission.

Thanks! However, we do use the RTMac to capture from the Betacam deck and it has always worked fine. Plus, the audio works when printing and it works fine with stuff coming in/capturing. Would the incompatible hardware cause it to have just a specific problem like this? Also, this mac is really old, so as much as I hate to say it, it might just be a G4 :p

Unfortunately, i haven’t been able to find one that works, and I’ve tried many, including easy set ups made for use with the Matrox RT Mac
