    Zac,

The specification sheet for the XL1s indicates that it accepts a composite video and an S-VHS signal. You might try the inputs using something other than the fluoroscope. It has been my experience that lots of medical equipment has a funny sync signal. It’s not set at 15.75 Khz. That way the manufacturer gets to sell more stuff.

    Ruby,

Buy yourself a copy of Ross Lowell’s “Maters of Light and Depth”. You can order it from your local Lowell dealer for $28.95. It’s the bible.

    Good Luck,

    Hi Jon,

From what I can see they are more like reborn than flailing. (I’ve watched them flop around and I think/hope those days are over) They seem to be back on track and concentrating on the switcher business. Let me know if you need any corporate contacts. Let the good times roll!

    Jon,

I’ve been around Echolab for almost thirty years. They may have had a couple of ups and downs during that time but I’d bet my pants on them today. They always seem to have the engineers, I like their modular design. I don’t have to hang A to D or D to A converters on the I/Os like the other guys, and they respond if I have a problem. I see your point about the demo artists. This seems to fluctuate. Admittedly, I come at this from a dealer prospective. I do business with Echolab because I choose to, not because I have to. Most end users might buy a few switchers in a lifetime. I get to buy lots of them and suffer the consequences if things go wrong. If the shoe fits…..

  • Hi Matt,

Typically a broadcast camera comes with a 1/4 (.25) ND filter in the filter wheel. The Tiffen ND.3 is the closest and is a good starting point. The .3 is equal to one stop, the .6 is good for two stops and the .9 will get you three stops. At a little over $12.00 ea. you might consider all three.

    Good luck,
