So to confirm, the new Premiere Pro will support Sony XAVC Intra in both 2K and 4K?

    Shane,

Thanks for the info on the native AVC100 situation. I was trying to figure out why all the AVC material was coming in native and then requiring rendering on a prores timeline.

It appears that bringing the files in as Pro Res standard is the best option. When I use HQ it still requires rendering. Any thoughts on that?

    Chris,
“Taking the plunge and getting a P2 Varicam. How many P2 cards do you guys own? I am thinking four 64 and a 32. I am curious to hear feedback on what works well. Also, what card reader do you use?”

I usually send out 3-32gb and 3-16’s with the package but have started offering the P-2 110 Mobile as an incentive to keep the P2 flow easy. Biggest beef with clients is still the times for backup etc. So much depends on the style of the cameraman (film or video)If they turn the camera off, its plenty of cards otherwise…
    Are you getting a 2700 or 3700?

Jeff, I see you have the 2700. I’m considering transitioning from my HPX3000 to a 2700 for frame rate issue, etc. How has acceptance been for your 2700 from Discovery, NGT, BBC etc.
Still have my tape based Varicam but post workflow for our projects is dialed in well for P2.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.
