    And while we’re at it…

The reply “Read the manual” is just rude.
If we understood the entire manual we wouldn’t need to post here.

I am a film editor (yes 16mm) who became a director and now cut my own stuff.
I can never match the experience in FCP editing of many people who help here.
We are VERY grateful. So don’t be too sharp.

Recent upgrade problems (spinning ball of death) were finally tracked down to Flip4Mac. A reinstall of that solved a myriad of problems. May not be your problem but try any third party stuff

For anyone who finds themselves in the same place, Uncompressed 8 bit output from the Quicktime options worked a dream

    DV in.

    Setting all for PAL DV.

Export “As QT Movie” OR with setting Conversion, all set to DV PAL.

Essentially I THINK that all settings are consitent through the process.

DVD’s are as sharp as you would expect from DVC, pretty good.

If I play the QT on any computer including my iMAC the quality is significantly worse than the DVD quality.

I do not have QT pro as I bought it but the system wont see it….
