How would I uninstall the quadro driver? -
Thanks guys. I just installed the older Cuda driver you mentioned but no change. The nVidia driver I have and have access to is 270.00.00f01, not the 7.18.11 270.05.20f02 driver you mention. The driver I am using is the latest one on the nVidia web site. Could you direct me to the one you are mentioning? Am I confused on this?
thanks

Great article, very much appreciated. -

Got it.
But…
We do export to quicktime with some reasonable expectation of color accuracy. What I am seeing is not within that expectation. But, I do get your point.

Thanks, actually that is how I work. But what is of concern, is if I calibrate to c bars on my externals, export those same bars to QuickTime from MC, the bars played from QT on my desktop have the same elevated black levels that I see within MC. Weird. In addition to that, if I AMA a prores clip and then import that same clip via DNX, mix those on the same timeline, the AMA version is much lighter than the imported clip. I am just trying to get comfortable and confident with my workflow.
Thanks -

Actually, what I want to do is send an AAF file of the sequence and then import via Duck to AE. I think I have my issues ironed out on that from at least regarding AMA linked files.
However, I am not sure why I am having problems with QT reference files. I get an error message from AE saying “file is damaged or unsupported.
I will continue troubleshooting my workflow, clearly a setting that I have messed up somewhere.
thanks

I’ll just throw a word of caution out concerning the the Matrox mini. I use that box with great results on both FCP and MC 5.5.3 however, if you are planning to use MC6 then the mini will only currently with with your Avid. I switched back from MC6 to 5.5.3 for that reason. Matrox has not come out with drivers that work on all 3 platforms at once, Adobe, Apple and Avid. If you do a quick check of their site you’ll see the MC6 driver ONLY works on MC6.
The Panasonic seems like a solid choice for a monitor. -
I just did a downgrade to 5.5.3 and the gamma shift is gone. Something is going on with my system and MC6. MC6 does handle window layout in slightly different way it seems. I also experience odd behavior with windows not remembering saved placements etc.
I’ll see how 5.5.3 works out in the short term. Right now I don’t see the real advantage of 6 over 5.5
64 bit does not seem to be a happy camper on my Mac for some reason. I have had just as many playback issues with PPro as well. FCP 7 is the only editing platform that has been working without major issues.
Anyway, thanks
