(Actually it will be great to see you – I’ll try hard to come up with at least one wildly unsupportable flight of FCP X-centric frippery to toss out in your honor!)
I also suggested that the organizers provide us with those awesome cheap rubber inflatable fake Sumo Wrestler suits and let the battle be decided in a taped off “octagon” live match, but they nixed the idea.

I think Richard Taylor is going to try to do some streaming. I hope he gets successfully out.
My experience in NABs years past is that the publiclly available WiFi – well, to call it “problematic” for streaming transmission would be unbelievably generous.
And to get a direct line to a booth – or to an adjacent hotel facility like where the LumaForge stage is happening is usually $$$$.
I’ve never once managed to stream successfully at NAB unless I had a private password into a setup where they’d payed the massive amount necessary to install a direct T1 connection or the like.
This is 100,000 plus technologically armed conventioneers ALL hitting the available WiFi bandwidth constantly.
Not pretty for a “from my iPhone to the world” scenario.

I don’t *think* so.
The sessions are being recorded for sure, but unless somebody in the crowd gets a FB Live or Periscope thing up, I know of no streaming plans. And I wouldn’t hold your breath for personal feeds. I’ve tried to do personal streams out of NAB in the past – the number of connected users typically has the available bandwidth pretty saturated on site.Creator of XinTwo – https://www.xintwo.com

The past few months as Ive been working on my XinTwo content it just feels different. I have a radically new workflow. Script creation in Filemaker Pro so I can simultaneously start assembling the needed metadata. Then Voiceovers are recorded directly inside FCP X – and those Share directly out to Frame.io where the visual lessons are managed. The Screenfows are assembled and we start the visualization and approval stages – again using local FCP X on our desktops to assemble the actual videos.
As of earlier this week, Frame.io directly transfers the approved modules out of Frame.io to my Vimeo Pro account which serves as the content host for sharing. Those files are linked to the XinTwo website using metadata from the Filemaker system. So I basically have a production pipeline that goes all the way from my desktop – through the production partners – and up to the bespoke website and out to the planet.
I’m sure other platforms have systems to do the same, or similar things. But I don’t know those. I know this one – and I can see a clear path using just the tools I’ve already assembled significant expertise in.
So I’m about as glad as I can be with the recent messaging from Apple and the future of the Apple part of this process.
The software and back end integration is coming along gangbusters, and I can see a great future going forward.
As I posted in another message elsewhere — Onward and Upward! This ride feels like its might be getting really good now. I’d close with “stay tuned” – but that’s seeming a bit long in the tooth. Maybe “stay linked” is better now?”

It comes with all sorts of neat accessories.

I suspect the issue won’t be the hardware, but the micing technique they’ll need to learn.
A single person interview can get by with a simple lightening connected lav like the Rode VideoMic. (Presuming they don’t want to spend $$$ for the much higher end Sennheiser MKE2 with the Apogee in-line converter)
But when you move to the panel configuration, all bets are off.
Three people into one lav microphone in a spread out panel configuration is a recipe for uneven (at best) sound. Whoever’s closest to the mic element might sound just fine – but, expect the participants farther away to sound much less so.
And there just isn’t a cheap and simple and non-pro friendly way to feed an iPhone from a small mic mixer that I’ve discovered yet.
You might be better off getting a trio of those small, cheapish Zoom H1s and putting one directly in front of each person on the panel, then use those files in post to even out the discussion audio.
More work, but likely MUCH better results.

Doesn’t help you any Oliver, but I remember back when Canon introduced the C series of cameras, there was many, many months between it’s MXF flavor escaping the lab – and it landing simply and contentedly in a FCP X storyline. Eventually, it did, but it wouldn’t shock me at all if something about Apple’s Roles re-do late last year caused something about how Canon MXF functions not to translate perfectly.
Unfortunately, if it turns out to be something Canon has to fix on their end in response to the new Roles architecture, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of quick revision happening around drivers at Canon – at least not that I’ve seen.
Oh well.
