HI! i’ve come back with another problem and i’m posting on this thread since i made it 😀 my old problem hasn’t been solved but i’ve downloaded sony vegas 10 and if this doesn’t work then i;ll think about doing a clean install.

Well noe the problem is that when i open an avi file in HD in sony vegas, the preview window shows an incredible low-quality file. it’s pixelated and ugly like it’s a very low-quality file (and it’s not!). What could be the problem here? 😀

I tried to avoid converting the files since that would mean quality loss. I’ll try to solve it some other way xD
But I have some other questions related to codecs and sony. Do you think that installing vegas 9 or 10 is a better option than 8? I heard that vegas 9 handles mp4 files better but i don’t know what to belive.

And if it doesn’t help having so many codecs installed which ones should i uninstall?

actually i have already done that xD
and when i drag it it says codec status undetermined.
and the footage is downloaded from the internet (i know it’s not that good but i don’t have other option)
today i’ve searched the net (again) and i’ve found another codec for x264 files. i have installed it and now vegas opens the file but i see only the audio. i know people had had this problem so i’ll search for those threats. maybe i’ll manage to solve it now.
thank you for your promt reply. 🙂
