I had given up trying to make it work a few weeks ago and found your forum yesterday and asked for your help. I had not worked on these files in nearly a month, and must have had an earlier version of QT than the one I currently have, which is 7.6.8. So before trying your advice, I tried one more time to work with the files and to my amazement, they worked!

I can see the video and do my editing, but the preview is extremely choppy, even when I reduce the preview to draft and half size, the image lags almost a second behind the audio. So I tried installing QT 7.6.2 like you recommended, and now Vegas didn’t recognize the files at all – I don’t even see the audio.

I reinstalled 7.6.8 and I’m back to choppy preview, but at least I can see the video.

I inquired about the upgrade offer of Vegas 10, but the $139 offer appears to be for US only – I’m north of the border.

Now that I can work with these files, any recommendations as the compression rate I should render these files to? I want HD quality video for web, the kind you see on Vimeo.com. If you could also provide tips on bit rates and aspect ratios, would be greatly appreciated.
