    Hi,
not a proper solution but if you reduce the bitrate to 112,000bps then you’ll get audio. When I render out something for youTube or vimeo then I use now 112,000. Anything higher won’t work. I’ve told Sony about this bug a while ago but haven’t heard anything back.

I’ve just got an e-mail from Sony telling me that there is a new build available. So, installed it and tried the Sony AVC render and there’s still no sound.
Also when I use the mainconcept AVC/H264 render I get an error if I try to use the GPU acceleration.
Bottomline: nothing has been fixed so far.

I’ve filed a bug report at Sony’s web site. Haven’t got a reply yet.

Couldn’t resist the temptation to try it out…
Works nicely with MP4Box. Summary here:

Download GPAC and install it on your computer.
Extract the H264 from the MPEG4 file:
    MP4Box -raw 1 attr_2_resiliance03_sonyavc.mp4
assuming that stream 1 contains your H264.
    Merge with AC3 audio:
    MP4Box -add attr_2_resiliance03_sonyavc_track1.h264 -add attr_2_resiliance03.ac3 merged.mp4

    Hi Hayden,
you should be able to merge MPEG4 and AAC with MP4Box. It’s a small command line tool which I usually use to make MP4 streamable for flash players. It does all different kinds of MPEG4 manipulations for you. I’ve never merged anything with it but it should work as long as the streams are MPEG4 compliant.
Here is a recipe how to merge audio and video (taken from https://www.bradchen.com/node/6):
    MP4Box -raw
    MP4Box -add ‘#video’ -add ‘#audio’ [Output Filename]
    You get MP4Box here:

I’m experiencing exactly the same problem with Sony’s AVC encoder. I’ve switched to MP4 and enabled audio but it’s not in the stream. Seems to be a bug in Vegas. Mainconcept’s encoder works fine. It’s pretty frustrating because the Sony encoder is two times faster than the Mainconcept encoder.
