    I would steer you away from the Syrp, because often that model and similar models don’t provide a very fluid sliding motion. The slider can very easily get caught along the rails and cause hiccups in your motion. It is very difficult to get an even and smooth pace. You need to frequently use silicone spray to keep the slider fluid, which obviously is not ideal for reliable use of the slider. I would look into models that have a gears or a track for controlled movement.

    I have been operating QT7 for years independently of FCP 7 and recently FCP X. I have done several uninstalls and re-installs of FCP and always maintained QT7 with no issues. I find QT7 very useful for time-lapse assembly. I also keep QT10 installed.

    Thanks, that is helpful. What if my graph is a PNG sent by client? Is there a way to deconstruct an image like this? I don’t know if they can provide me with separate layers for each element.

    Is there any way to key and reveal specific colors within a single layer?
